Player Bio

A promising wicket-keeper, Maddy Darke is a professional Australian cricketer who was also a part of the Australian U-19 setup. She first arrived at the domestic scene in 2019 for New South Wales as an 18-year old.

Prior to signing her maiden Women’s Big Bash League contract, Maddy travelled to the UK with the Australian A squad and later made her WBBL debut for Sydney Sixers against their cross-town rivals, Thunders. She had a breakout 2018-19 season, amassing 546 First Grade runs in the limited-overs format for universities, averaging over 70, at the top of the order.

After featuring in just 3 matches last season, Maddy moved to Melbourne Stars prior to the start of the seventh edition of the WBBL for more game time. She made her debut for the Stars against her former club on October 14th, 2021 and would be hoping to bank on her WBBL performances to earn a callup from the Australian Women’s team.
