An all-rounder by profession, Jonathan Merlo is an Australian cricketer who nurtured his skills with the Australian U-19 squad.

A right-arm medium-pace bowler with an ability to chip in with vital runs, Merlo represented Australia during the 2018 U-19 World Cup.

Merlo was drafted in the Cricket Australia XI side for the 2017-18 JLT One-Day Cup. He eventually made his List-A debut for Cricket Australia against South Australia and picked up 2 for 38 in the match.

In total, he played four matches in the tournament, gained exposure and chipped in with 5 wickets under his belt.

Ahead of the 2018-19 Big Bash League season, Merlo was included in the Melbourne Stars squad. The skilful all-rounder made his debut for Stars against rivals Melbourne Renegades on January 1, 2019.
