Player Bio

A remarkable all-rounder, Danish Aziz made headlines in the domestic circuit which earned him his maiden callup in the ODI series against Pakistan.

Aziz who hails from Karachi has been playing for Sindh since 2014. He was initially given chances in first-class and List-A matches, but it was only after Sindh realized his capability that he was given the chance to represent the T20 team of the provincial side in 2016-17. Strangely, Aziz’s breakthrough moment arrived in a 50-over domestic match in 2017. Danish joined Fawad Alam and both the left-handers cracked the chase with a stunning 192-run partnership of just 132 balls. Danish was brutal in his power-packed innings of 84 runs smashing six sixes and four boundaries. The innings gave him the confidence to carry himself in the shortest formats and since then he has been a changed player.

Moments like these enhanced his reputation as a deadly finisher and someone who can chase in a pressure situation which is a rarity for Pakistan. After travelling with the squad for the New Zealand tour, he finally got a chance to don the green jersey against South Africa on April 2nd, 2021. He was harmless in the first ODI as the Men in Green rocked the Proteas at their own backyard.

With PCB facing serious criticism, Pakistan needs to handle the youngsters properly. Given enough chances, the Karachi-born youngster can become a great success and from where it stands at this moment, Pakistan batting seems in bright hands.
