Hailing from Karachi, Umair Ali is a professional cricketer for the United Arab Emirates. A middle-order batsman, the veteran is a late bloomer to cricketer arriving at the international scene in 2015 at the age of 29.
The Fujairah-based all-rounder made his international debut in a T20I fixture against Scotland and had a forgettable debut, scoring just 10 runs as they were humiliated by the Scottish cricket team. After a handful of international games under his belt, he was dropped from the squad due to the lack of consistency at the highest level.
Umair continues to remain a prominent figure in the domestic circuit and was the leading wicket-taker in the Emirates D10 competition in its inaugural season in 2020. Having earned a contract from the Northern Warriors prior to the start of the fifth edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 league, he would be looking to replicate his domestic performances to the premier tournament.
