Player Bio

A talented top-order batter, Anna Lanning is a professional Australian cricketer for the Melbourne Stars who has the experience of playing in the UK. Born and raised in Sydney, Anna moved to Victoria in her teens and went on to represent the state in the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL).

The younger sister of the Australian skipper, Meg Lanning, Anna was drafted in by Melbourne Renegades for the sixth edition of WBBL and scored 73 on her debut for the Reds to earn the Player of the Match performance. An explosive player with heaps of experience, the Sydney-born batter previously played for Warwickshire in the English domestic circuit.

The 27-year old was roped in by the Sixers for the inaugural edition of the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) and since then has become a mainstay for Team Green. Anna was re-signed by the Stars prior to the start of the seventh edition of the WBBL and would be looking to develop young players to help them progress through the ranks.
