Player Bio

Maisy Gibson is a leg-spinner and a lower-order batter, who plays her domestic cricket for Tasmania. Previously she represented Sydney Thunder in the WBBL and played her domestic cricket for New South Wales.

Born in Singleton, Gibson was the first female to captain a team at the Lismore Under-12 cricket, captaining Hunter Valley U12s. She has also played grade cricket for Singleton and Hunter Region, before representing NSW state team.

The leg-break bowling helped her become an enchanted name in domestic circles, before bagging a WBBL contract. For the first edition, she was contracted by Sydney Thunder and contributed highly in their triumph that season.

Gibson played in four Women's Big Bash League seasons for Sydney Thunder, taking 36 wickets in total. However, she parted ways with the franchise to join hands with Hobart Hurricanes for the 2019-20 season.

The following season, the Hurricanes were knocked out early of the tournament, as Gibson remained unavailable due to injury. She would return for the WBBL|07 to help the Hobart-based club to clinch their maiden trophy.
