Player Bio

Cricket runs in the Coyte family. Both the Coyte brothers have played representative cricket for New South Wales and Sydney Thunder and their sister, Sarah is a former Australian representative.

Born in NSW, Sarah Coyte has been a key contributor for the Australians across all formats since making her debut in 2010, even before having represented Australia U-21s.

On her debut, Coyte burst onto the international scene with 2-18 off four overs to play a pivotal role in their four-wicket victory over New Zealand. As her career progressed, she worked on her batting skills and sharpened her bowling variations, to get the tag of an allrounder.

The allrounder was part of the Southern Stars during the 2013 World Cup and the T20 World Cup of 2014. She contributed highly in both the formats, but her highlight moment came during the final of the 2014 event when he bagged 3/16 - to bag the Player of the Match award.

Apart from being a key white-ball bowler, Coyte has also played four Ashes Tests in between 2011 and 2015. She was also part of the squad for the 2016 T20 WC, where the Australian finished runners-up and the white-ball specialist didn’t get an outing.

In March 2017, Coyte announced her retirement from all forms of international cricket at the age of 25, citing a need to seek better balance in her life to combating mental health issues.

Since then, the allrounder has been playing as a freelancer in both domestic and WBBL circuits. At Big Bash, she started off with the Adelaide Strikers, then she bid ways to win the trophy with Sydney Sixers in WBBL|03, before returning back to Adelaide ahead of WBBL|04 and has been with them since then.
