Player Bio

Hailing from the city of Lahore, Imran Butt is a right-hand batsman who plays professional cricket for the Pakistan national team.

A proper top-order batsman who has excelled mostly in red-ball cricket, made his first-class debut playing for Lahore Shalimar against Karachi Whites on December 28, 2012 and announced his arrival with a maiden fifty on his debut. Till has played 74 first-class matches and has amassed over 4500 runs.

The batter’s stellar performance in the 2019-20 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy for Balochistan paved his way to the national team. His record-breaking season with 934 runs in nine matches held him to the top of the leading run-scorers chart. Butt’s limited-over domestic career has not been such a highlight as he only managed to play 38 List A matches after his debut in March 2013 and hasn’t played a single List A match since October 2018.

In June 2020, Imran Butt was named as one of the four reserve players for the Pakistan tour of England during the Covid-19 pandemic but didn’t get an opportunity to play. He finally made his Test debut against South Africa on January 21, 2021 in Karachi but failed to capitalize on the opportunity scoring just 21 runs in two innings. The only positive side was Pakistan won the match

Imran hasn’t had a huge amount of success in the white-ball formats.
