Player Bio

Kavem Hodge is a West Indies batting all-rounder who is a veteran at the domestic level, boasting a wealth of experience. He is an ambidextrous cricketer - right-handed batter and left-arm orthodox spinner.

Hodge’s professional cricket career started with a first-class game while representing Windward Islands against Leeward Islands in the Regional Four Day Competition in 2012.

Later in the same year, he donned the West Indies Under-19 jersey for the World Cup 2012.

He shifted the base to the Combined Campuses and Colleges ahead of the 2014 season and made his first List-A appearance in Nagico Super50 versus Leeward Islands.

In June 2018, Hodge featured in the West Indies B squad for the inaugural season of the Global T20 Canada. A few months later, he made his T20 debut for St Lucia Stars in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2018 fixture against Guyana Amazon Warriors.

For two consecutive editions of the Super50 Cup in 2018-19 and 2019-20, Hodge was the top-scorer of the Windward Islands, piling up 179 and 341 runs, respectively.

He received an ODI call-up for the series versus UAE, scheduled in June 2023. He played all three matches but failed to live up to the expectations, scoring just 26 runs and taking two wickets. He is only the second Dominican cricketer after Alick Athanaze to have played an ODI.

He was close to making his Test debut in the series against Bangladesh in 2021. Eventually, his Test ambitions were fulfilled after he stepped his foot in the format Down Under in the series versus Australia, where he played a 71-run knock in the second match.
