Player Bio

A crafty leggie who likes to bowl quick, Jonathan Cook is a professional Australian cricketer for the Sydney Thunder who became the first cricketer from Western Suburbs to claim the O’Reilly medal as the Best Player in the New South Wales premier cricket tournament.

After a string of impressive performances in the domestic circuit, Cook was signed by the Sydney Thunders prior to the eighth edition of the Big Bash League (BBL). He made his debut for the Thunders in the cross-town derby against Sydney Sixers on December 24th, 2018 and was exceptional in his four overs, giving just 17 runs and striking a wicket.

Having been retained by Sydney Thunders for the eleventh edition of the BBL, the 31-year old leggie would be hoping to light up the Sydney Showground Arena in the upcoming season of the coveted tournament.
