Player Bio

Hogging the limelight as a teenager when he bagged a fifer in his first-class debut, Cameron Green is one of the finest young fast bowlers in Australia. Making his first-class debut at the tender age of 17, Green became the youngest bowler to bag a five-wicket haul in the Sheffield Shield. He impressed everyone with his raw pace and his ability to move the ball both ways.

Only 21 now, Green’s brief career has already been marred with injuries and stress fractures. Playing in only his 2nd Shield game, Green dislocated his knee during the warm-ups but to his relief, the injury scare was taken care of by the physio and he was subsequently cleared to take further part in the match. To add to his exceptional abilities with the ball in hand, Green can hit the long ball and can turn the match with his gutsy hitting.

In just his 2nd first-class game, Green smashed James Pattinson, an Australian Test bowler for three sixes during his impressive knock of 45. He was quite impressed with the ball as well bagging 3 crucial wickets which included the wickets of Dan Christian and Cameron White. Green has played in 19 first-class games so far and boasts of an impressive record with both and the ball. While he averages close to 50 with the bat, his bowling average is 22 which shows the impact he has made for his team in the limited opportunities.

Green was handed over his List A debut in a tour match against Pakistan. He played for the Cricket Australia XI and bagged 3 wickets which included the scalp of Shoaib Malik. He was quite brilliant with the ball and consistently troubled the Pakistan batters with his raw pace and swing.

On the back of consistent performances, Green was presented with a rookie contract with the Perth Scorchers ahead of the 2017/18 BBL season.
