Player Bio

Max Bryant loves the brand of cricket which Matthew Hayden and Virender Sehwag used to play. In simple words, see the ball and thrash the attack apart. He is an aggressive opening batsman who knows how to find the boundary and can change a game in a matter of overs. He is a contracted player for Queensland and Brisbane Heat at representative levels.

Born in Kingscliff, Bryant used to play Rugby in his growing days that gave his burly build and raw strength. Being a by-product of the Gold Coast District Cricket Club, he began playing Queensland Premier Cricket for the Gold Coast Dolphins where he made his first-grade debut at the age of 16 in December 2015.

He scored at an average alright at the U-19 level in 2016/17 at a strike rate of 138 and immediately caught the eye of the T20 franchises. He was awarded a second rookie contract in 2017/18 for Queensland. As his career for Queensland progressed, the hard-hitting batter proved his worth right.

In 2018, Bryant hit the fastest-ever one-day half-century by a Queensland player and then earned a BBL contract from Brisbane Heat ahead of the eighth edition. Since then, he has been part of the club as a rising star.

Apart from being a hard hitter, the top-order destroyer is also a change-up seaming all-rounder and a decent fielder, which immediately strikes comparisons with Shane Watson. If everything goes according to plan, the Heat rising star can don the Yellow and Gold soon in the coming years or days maybe.
