Player Bio

A towering rapid pace bowler, Brendan Doggett is a professional Australian cricketer who made an immediate impact on his Sheffield Shield debut, picking up 4 wickets in his first outing that included the wicket of the Aussie star, Glenn Maxwell. After the exploits in his debut season, his rookie contract was upgraded to a full-time contract and joined the senior list of Queensland Bulls.

Hailing from Toowoomba, Doggett signed for Brisbane Heat for the seventh edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) and two seasons later moved to the Sydney Thunders. His potential in the longer formats was realized in the 2017-18 Sheffield Shield season and was rewarded with a callup to the Australian Test side to tour UAE against Pakistan but did not play.

Doggett possesses the rare gift of raw speed and has become a valuable asset entering his third season with the Thunders. At the age of 27, he would be looking to gain worthy experience from the other top-flight candidates in the Thunder’s squad to earn a recall to the national side.
