An injury to John Hastings gave young Jackson Coleman an opportunity to join Melbourne Stars at the backend of BBL|06, and he went on to earn a full contract in BBL|07. However, the Jackson Coleman story isn’t that simple.

Coleman stands tall at 196 centimetres who is well built. He is a left-arm pacer by traits and was a member of the successful Australian U-19 World Cup squad in 2010.

The former U19 cricketer is the son of former VFL/AFL footballer Glenn Coleman. And post the marquee tournament, he took a break from cricket to his AFL dream by playing VFL with Sandringham and Frankston, before returning in 2015 and impressing for Melbourne in Premier Cricket and hasn’t looked back since.

Coleman, who was on Bushrangers rookie contract in 2009-10, bagged a state contract for Victoria from the 2016-17 season. Later that year, the left-arm quick grabbed a BBL contract with the Stars, before bagging a permanent contract with them.

Since then, he has been associated with the franchise and proves his value consistently. The left-arm quick is an intimidating threat to any batter and his skiddy deliveries cause problems to many.
