Player Bio

Simon Alexander Milenko is an all-rounder by all sorts. He is a hit-the-deck-hard seam bowler who can trouble the batsmen with his pace and movement off the pitch. He is more than a decent batsman who generally bats in the lower middle order. Over the years, he has been a key figure in the Tasmanian setup.

Nicknamed Milly, Milenko began his cricket career with South Hobart Sandy Bay, before making his state debut for Queensland in 2014-15. Later that year, he was contracted by Brisbane Heat for fill-in as a replacement for Marnus Labuschagne.

Despite being a talented cricketer, the all-rounder only got limited opportunities with the Bulls thus moved on to Tasmania in the following year.

In 2016-17, when Tasmania finished last on the table in the Sheffield Shield, Milenko had an excellent season personally. He was Tasmania’s leading wicket-taker in the season with 25 wickets, and with the bat, he notched up 517 runs which included five fifties.

An excellent season was sufficient enough for Milenko, as he bagged a permanent contract by Hobart Hurricanes in 2015-16, to become a regular for them. After playing 36 BBL games - including four semifinals - for the Hobart-based club, the all-rounder returned to the Heat ahead of BBL|10.

At 32, Milenko is a seasoned pro and has been excellent in a leadership capacity, which would help Brisbane Heat in the eleventh edition of the T20 festival.
