Player Bio

An attacking batter and a reliable wicketkeeper, Jimmy Peirson started off as a Brisbane Grade Cricketer and then take on Brisbane Heat’s captaincy full-time in BBL|11. He was the youngest-ever Sheffield Shield winning captain when the Bulls won the competition in 2018.

Born in Sydney, the dynamic middle-order batsman and excellent gloveman began his journey as a Grade cricketer, before making his One-Day debut in 2015 and then made his first-class debut for Cricket Australia XI against the West Indians during their tour of Australia in December 2015.

Apart from being an extraordinary cricketer, he is also an on-field leader as he repeated the feat of 2018 by winning the Sheffield Shield in 2020-2021. At BBL, Peirson has been with the Heat for seven editions and the 2020-21 season was his breakthrough year. During his seven BBL seasons for the Heat, Jimmy has been unbeaten in nine of 16 innings. Later his services were awarded by becoming the on-field leader, replacing Chris Lynn, for 2021-22.

Peirson is a poor cricketer whose dream of archiving the Baggy Green has been away from him due to the presence of Tim Paine, Mathew Wade and Peter Neville over the last couple of years. Although an impeccable BBL season can change the fortunes for him.
