Player Bio

The tall, well-built right-arm pacer known for his ability to swing the ball, Daniel Worrall is a professional Australian cricketer who made his debut for South Australia in 2012 but struggled to hold down a permanent place in both Sheffield Shield and the one-day side.

A late bloomer to cricket, Worrall’s boost in pace saw him from being a commerce student in Melbourne to a South Australian rookie in 2012-13. A dominant season in the domestic limited-overs format saw him get a chance at the highest level for Australia. He made his ODI debut against Ireland on September 27th, 2016 but failed to secure his spot in the limited-overs Australian side.

Nicknamed “Franky”, the Melbourne-born pacer suffered a stress fracture during his stint for the English county side Gloucestershire. He bounced back in the last 5 matches for Melbourne Stars with a career-best 4/23 against Hobart Hurricanes in the semi-finals of the eighth edition of the Big Bash League (BBL).

Worrall’s ability to take the ball away from the right-handers particularly with the new ball makes him a great asset for any side.
