Player Bio

A calm composed batsman and even brilliant gloveman, Heino Kuhn is a South African-born professional cricketer who signed for Kent as a Kolpak player in 2018 after stints with South African sides Northerns and the Titans.

Before moving to England to play in the Championship, Heino represented South Africa 'A' 49 times with a high score of 200 unbeaten against Hampshire in 2017. In the same season, he smashed 105 runs against England Lions facing the current English bowling attack of Sam Curran, Jamie Overturn, and Jack Leach.

Kuhn made his international debut against England on July 6th, 2017 at the Lords in a match in which the Proteas lost by 211 runs. His debut season with Kent started on the wrong foot but he quickly got into his stride and smashed 3 half-centuries in the Championship. The 2018 Royal London One Day Cup was arguably Heino’s greatest ‘moment’ in a Kent shirt thus far. Heino scored 4 centuries for Kent in their road to the final.

The veteran continued to feature heavily for Kent in 2019 and was registered as one of three of Kent’s available Overseas Player slots in 2021. Currently one of the most experienced cricketers on Kent’s side, Heino will be hoping to make a positive impact in the red-ball team of Kent.
