Player Bio

Ryan Gibson - an emerging top-order batter and a capable leg spinner, who’s a product of the Sydney Grade competitions. At the Big Bash level, the youngster wears the Thunder colours and has represented Cricket Australia XI as well.

Born in Penrith, Gibson was identified as an outstanding young prodigy and duly selected for the New South Wales U-19 side in back-to-back seasons, before earning the senior NSW cap. His outstanding form in Sydney Grade Cricket in summer 2015-16 saw him force his way into state calculations.

The Penrith-born got the due recognition at BBL level as well, bagging a Sydney Thunder contract for the 2016-17 season. And the top-order batter celebrated it notching a fifty on his first Big Bash outing.

He migrated to Adelaide to play the majority of the 2020-21 season for them, returning to the Strikers squad as a local replacement player for Travis Head in BBL|11.
