Player Bio

Born in Aberdeen, Scotland, Joshua Henry Davey is a right-arm medium-pace bowler whose talent was recognised by Middlesex and they gave Davey a chance to prove his worth at the age of 19.

Eventually, he failed to capitalise on the opportunities given to him and the talented bowler was released from Middlesex in 2013. Davey has been Scotland’s backbone for the past 11 years now. He made his international debut in 2010 and since then has been an integral member of the Scottish national side.

Over the years, Davey has produced some magical numbers for Scotland cricket, but none bigger than his 3 for 23 against Bangladesh in a T20I game in 2012. His scintillating bowling efforts helped Scotland to get their first win over an ICC Full Member.

Davey was highly regarded in Scotland. But his performances dipped as his cricketing career progressed. However, he found his mojo back in 2015 and also became a crucial part of the Somerset side in the English county.

In the 2018 County Championship, Davey produced outstanding numbers and finished the season with 34 wickets under his belt.

In September 2021, he was added to the Scotland squad for the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

A terrific fast bowler, Davey has been the spearhead of the Scottish pace attack for the last few years. He has excellent control over his line and lengths and that makes him a dangerous customer, especially when the wicket is doing a bit for the fast bowlers.
