Player Bio

Devon Thomas is a wicketkeeper-batsman by craft who is slightly better behind the stumps. He represents the Leeward Islands regionally, while he provides his services to St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the Caribbean Premier League. Thomas first donned the Maroon jersey during the 2008 Under-19 World Cup and received his international cap back in 2009.

Born in Antigua, the wicketkeeper-batsman made his List-A for West Indies Under-19 during the KFC Cup in 2007. The following year, he was roped in by the Leeward Islands to make his First-Class debut in the 2007-08 Carib Beer Series. Later that season, he kept wickets for West Indies' Under-19 in the 2008 World Cup in Malaysia.

In 2009, when some renowned senior West Indies players boycotted the Bangladesh tour, Thomas became one of the fortunate cricketers, who received his international cap then. The Antigua-born made his ODI debut at Roseau and celebrated it by picking two wickets. He then joined an elite list of three keepers that took wickets in ODIs, which included MS Dhoni and Tatenta Taibu.

Thomas remained on the fringes of the national selections, before getting dropped in 2013 after playing 21 ODIs and three T20Is. However, he has been playing regional tournaments for the Leeward Islands regularly. In 2019, he was named as the captain of the Leeward Islands for the Super50 Cup.

The Antigua-born was picked by Antigua Hawksbills for the inaugural edition of the Caribbean Premier League in 2013. However, when the franchise got defunct, Thomas was roped in by St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots in 2015 and has been with them since.
