Player Bio

Coming from the greatest wrist-spinner - Abdul Qadir’s hometown, Maaz Khan is a talented young leg-break bowler who is a product of Lahore Qalandars’ Players Development Programme. Maaz is prominently young on this stage, but he has showcased his grit in the Pakistan Super League to be a world-beater, one day.

Maaz comes from a humble background from a Lahore-based family. His father was, initially, against his love affair with the game and sent the leggie to Peshawar for better education. However, Maaz had different plans, hence, the spinner, without telling his folks, gave the trials for Qalandars’ Players Development Programme in 2018.

He went through the trails and got Aaqib Javed’s nurturing in the camp. Earlier he used to be a googly bowler, however, with the Qalandars, Maaz added the art of leg-spin and flipper in his arsenal to become a potent force. In a game for Players Development Programme, the leggie took a hat-trick and there was no looking back for Maaz, since then.

Later in 2018, Maaz made his T20 debut for the Lahore Qalandars in the Final of the Abu Dhabi T20 Trophy where the spinner took the wickets Titans’ openers and helped the franchise grab the title. Two years later, he played a T20 game against MCC when they toured Pakistan in 2020. During the PSL draft for the 2020 season, the Lahore-based franchise picked the upcoming spinner and has been with them since then.
