Player Bio

An efficient leg-spinner with a flatter trajectory, Dinanath Ramnarine is a former West Indies cricketer who retired at the age of 28 from all forms of international cricket.

A consistent performer in the domestic circuit for Trinidad and Tobago, Dinanath never made his mark at the international level. Dinanath arrived at the domestic scene in 1993-1994 and made his List A debut the same year. A domestic legend who had over 300 wickets in just over a hundred List A and First-class matches.

Dinanath broke into the international scene after four years of domination in the domestic circuit. He made his ODI debut on June 6th, 1997 against Sri Lanka and picked two crucial wickets, one of the Sri Lankan spinner Arjuna Ranatunga in a comprehensive victory.

Although he provided breakthroughs for the Men in Maroon at crucial junctures, he wasn’t very consistent with his line. Hence, most of the time he was expensive and wasn’t seen as a future prospect by the national selectors. Dinanath announced his retirement at just 28 years of age in 2002 and started working for the WIPA( West Indies Players association) full time He further established a personal development program for which 150 first-class players benefited.
