Player Bio

Hailing from Taunton, Luis Reece is a dynamic all-rounder who made his first-class debut in 2012 is a middle-order batsman and a handy medium pacer for his home side Lancashire.

Luis made headlines for his bowling in a friendly match against Sussex in 2012 picking 7 wickets for just 23 runs. In the 2013 County Championship, Reece made an instant impact while opening the batting for Lancashire in the 2013 County Championship scoring 722 runs in ten matches averaging more than 55.

A career full of highs and lows, Reece had a disastrous 2015 when he broke his hand thumping the dressing room wall after being given out LBW and was sidelined from the squad.

Reece was released from Lancashire and ahead of the 2016 County Championship, he joined Derbyshire and bounced back after a decent season in the Championship. A true all-rounder had an outstanding summer in 2019, scoring 1579 runs and taking 70 wickets the best return by Derbyshire all-rounder for over 44 years. Against Sussex in 2019, he scored a breathtaking 184 and took 5-63 becoming just the 12th player to score a century and take five wickets in the same in innings.
