Player Bio

Leicestershire’s frontline spinner across all formats, Callum Parkinson is a professional English cricketer who made a real impression after signing for Leicestershire in 2016. He came through the Lancashire youth system before being part of the Derbyshire Academy and then moving to the Uptonsteel County Ground.

In August 2016 Parkinson was called into the Derbyshire squad for their Specsavers County Championship game, a contest in which he had an impressive debut. Parkinson struck four wickets in the first innings following up with another three wickets in the second innings.

The spinner has become a vital part of the T20 Blast side, often bowling in the powerplay. He took 15 wickets in his debut season with the best figures of 3 for 20 in the prestigious competition. Parkinson also made an impact with the bat, scoring 75 against Kent.

Since his debut season for the Running Foxes, Parkinson has become an integral part of the white-ball side becoming only the fourth player to claim 50 wickets for Leicestershire in the shortest format.

Following the conclusion of the 2020 season, Parkinson was named the deputy of the Leicestershire realizing his importance to the squad and the respect the squad had for him.
