Player Bio

Lewis Hill is a wicket-keeper batsman who represents Leicestershire county. Graduated from the Leicestershire Academy, he joined the club’s Second XI, in 2009, and became a Championship cricketer, in 2015. His breakthrough moment came during Hill’s maiden county season when he smashed a century against Surrey at The Oval.

During his academy days, Hill was picked by the Unicorns squad for the 2012 Clydesdale Bank 40 to make his List A debut. A year later, the keeper toured Australia with the Unicorns side to score a magical 228 not out. He made his first-class debut against Kent, in 2015, to score a commanding half-century on debut.

The following season, the keeper-bat had one of the best T20 seasons when he topped the club's averages with 157 runs at 39.25 and a strike rate of 150.66. As Hill started to perform, both as a batter and a stumper, he became an integral part of the county team. In 2018, the keeper claimed 29 catches in the County Championship and added some precious runs at the same time.

Over the years, Hill has developed an ability to take on quality bowling attacks in pressure situations, and hitting big in the shortest format makes him a resourceful player that could help Leicestershire in the 2021 Natwest t20 Blast.
