Player Bio

The first-ever Bermuda international to ever grace the English County cricket, Delray Rawlins is a lanky 23-year old all-rounder for Sussex whose only dream was to represent the English national team.

Started his cricketing journey at the age of 9, Rawlins grew up playing age-group cricket. He continued to play cricket at a level higher than his age and at 15, he got his maiden cap for Bermuda in the U-19 squad and claimed impressive figures of 5 for 61 on his debut. Initially selected as a bowler, he developed into a genuine all-rounder, capable of batting in the top six in limited-overs cricket.

Rawlins first gained prominence in 2017 when he struck a match-winning hundred on his U-19 debut for England. A sensational display of power-hitting from Rawlins helped England recover from 126 for 6 to post 256 which they successfully defended by 23 runs.

Rawlins made his T20 debut for Sussex in the Vitality Blast tournament and scored a blistering 49 on his debut in 2018 and grabbed the eyeballs of a wider cricketing public. In 2019, he single-handedly dragged Bermuda in the T20 World Cup qualifiers.

Once the youngest player in age-group cricket, the 24-year-old all-rounder retains his eligibility to continue representing Bermuda, although that will change if he plays for England's U-19s at an ICC event, or wins his first full cap.
