Player Bio

The young batting sensation, Sobhana Mostary is one of the emerging talents in the current Bangladesh team. She began her cricketing career at the age of 11 playing for Bangladesh Krira Shikka Prostisthan Women before she moved to represent her hometown Rangpur in 2017.

At just 15 years of age, she made her international debut in an ODI match against the Proteas. A year later, she was given a taste of playing in a global tournament when she made her T20 debut in August 2019 against the Netherlands, as part of the 2019 qualifiers for the World T20. More experience was handed to her when, later in 2019, she was given the chance to be part of Bangladesh’s emerging players tour, for games against South Africa and Sri Lanka.

Sobhana graced the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup at the age of 17 becoming the third-youngest player to ever grace in a T20 Women’s World Cup. She played just one match against the White ferns in a horrendous defeat and failed to capitalize on the massive opportunity presented to her. However, still in her teenage days, Sobhana gained a lot of experience by being a part of the coveted tournament, and sharing the dressing room alongside some senior players of her country will turn out to be invaluable for her career.
