Player Bio

Aaliyah Alleyne is an all-rounder who represents the West Indies globally. Relatively new onto the scene, Alleyne is a bowling all-rounder who bowls medium fast and bats in the lower-middle order.

Hailing from Barbados, Alleyne used to play football and was less inclined towards cricket, until the age of 18. A friend of the all-rounder told her about trials from where her love affair with cricket began. Alleyne has emerged from the Women’s Championship and T20 Blaze tournament to grab the eyeballs of the national selectors on the upcoming talent.

In October 2019, the Barbados-born all-rounder was picked in the squad for the series against the visiting Indians. Alleyne made her ODI as well as T20I debut on that tour and later was fast-tracked to play in the highly celebrated World T20 of 2020 Down Under.

Post the World Cup, Alleyne toured the UK to play three T20Is against the English side. The talented all-rounder had two decent games but shone like a star in the third T20I. Opening the bowling against a quality English batting lineup, she scalped the wickets of Danni Wyatt and Natalie Sciver and finished with the figures of 2 for 25.

Alleyne has just emerged from the world stage and still has to face various ups and downs in her career but her brief outings have shown that the all-rounder brings a lot of promise. If Alleyne converts that promise in performance then she would be a great addition to West Indies Cricket.
