Player Bio

Pawan Negi plays for Delhi in the first-class Ranji Trophy competition, and has also played List A and Twenty20 cricket for the team. An impactful T20 specialist with wicket taking abilities, his record of 5/22 in the Champions League T20 final for CSK in 2014 stands as his career headline.

Negi plays for Delhi in the Ranji Trophy and has played List-A cricket for them.

The all-rounder rose to prominence in the 2014 Champions League final playing for CSK. In the final against KKR, Negi was at his best, picking up 5 wickets for 22 runs and helped CSK win their second CLT20 title.

Negi was picked up in the Indian squad for the 2016 Asia Cup tournament. He made his debut against Afghanistan, picking up his maiden T20I wicket in the match.

The southpaw was also picked up in the squad for the 2016 World T20I held in India, but did not feature in any of the matches.

The Delhi lad has had a successful IPL career and played for Delhi Daredevils (Now Delhi Capitals) in 2012 and 2013; and for Chennai Super Kings in 2014 and 2015. Ahead of IPL auction in 2016, Negi was released by CSK, and returned back to Delhi for a whopping INR 8.50 crore, making him the costliest Indian buy in the auction at that time.

In 2018, Negi became a part of the RCB squad, finishing as the top wicket-taker, with 16 scalps from 12 matches.

Ahead of the 2020 IPL auction, Negi was released by RCB and it was the Kolkata Knight Riders who came calling for him for INR 50 lakh.

An impactful player, Negi has not completely justified his talent, be it in the IPL or at the international stage. While his primary domain is left-arm spin, he continuously proves to be a handy batsman for every team he was a part of.
