Player Bio

A premium fast bowler, Usman Khan Shinwari is a professional cricketer from Pakistan who burst onto the scene taking five wickets against a Misbah-ul-Haq-led SNGPL side in the final of the departmental T20 Cup, as a teenager.

Pakistan isn’t averse to producing 19-year-old pace bowlers, so when a young raw Usman Khan made his T20 debut against Sri Lanka in UAE four years back, they thought another gem was being unearthed. But he bowled just five overs across two matches, not picking up a single wicket but going for 61 runs. His forgettable debut led to his downfall and he never returned to the fold for four long years.

Four years later, Usman was once again recalled, this time to the ODI side. But on his debut, Hasan Ali grabbed the spotlight, although he did manage to scalp his first big international wicket. On his return to the national side, Usman picked his maiden five-wicket haul in the final match of the series in a thumping win against the Sri Lankans.

Usman had great success early in his white-ball career and represented various domestic franchises around the world in the shortest format. In his 7-match stint with the Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League(BBL), he scalped 8 wickets at a decent economy rate. He also is a lethal seamer for the Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League(PSL) and has shown it numerous times that he has the ability to win matches on his own.
