Player Bio

Despite being a seasoned campaigner in the domestic circuit for 13 years, Pite van Biljon hasn’t quite managed to take the leap to the next level. A stylish right-handed batsman, Biljon started off his first-class career for the Northerns at an age of 21 way back in 2006. He has an average of more than 40 and has established himself as a consistent run-scorer in the domestic circuit. Despite being a wicket-keeper, Biljon has primarily played as a middle-order batsman for most of the sides he has been part of.

After playing for Northerns, Biljon represented Free State and scored tons of runs for them. With a huge pool of South African batsmen in the middle order, Biljon hasn’t quite managed to break into the national side. He has proved his worth with the bat in domestic T20 Leagues and finally managed to make his international debut at the age of 34 against Australia in February 2020. He didn’t manage to make a mark in the limited opportunities and with age, not by his side. He will be racing against time to cement his place in the national squad though it looks Doubtful.
