Player Bio

Tom Moores, a well-known commodity in the county circuit. He is a left-handed wicket-keeper who has come through the ranks by playing in the Second XIs for Leicestershire, Lancashire, and Nottinghamshire, before featuring in the Championship.

The wicketkeeper has cricket in his genes being the son of county legend, Thomas Moores, and his uncle, who has also played the sport at representative level. Moores is a former Under-19 cricketer but declared his emergence after signing a two-year contract with Nottinghamshire. Soon, he got loaned to Lancashire, when Jos Buttler and Alex Davies were unavailable, to have a breakthrough year in 2016.

The following year, he moved back to make his Nottinghamshire debut against Yorkshire and played at number 3 position. During that Championship, he was one of the finest players from the county. Later that season, his knock of 57 runs against Derbyshire Falcons to help Nottinghamshire win the T20 Blast of 2017.

As his career progressed, the keeper-batsman became a vital weapon in the Nottinghamshire set-up and earned the image of a dangerous T20 campaigner with some athletic wicketkeeping skillset. He has also represented Multan Sultans in the 2019 season of the PSL.

In 2020, Moores rewrote the books during the T20 Blast when his vital knocks during the competitions helped Nottinghamshire clinch another title. Post that, he was picked by Jaffna Stallions for the LPL and then played T10 Abu Dhabi league for Bangla Tigers.

In 2021, Moores was drafted into the Trent Rockets’ squad for the inaugural edition of the Hundred and his fearless spirit can make the franchise favourites for the tournament.
