Player Bio

Patrick Brown was spotted in a trial for the pace bowlers back in 2017. He impressed at least six county teams who all offered him a contract to join them, but ultimately it was Worcestershire who roped the youngster.

A right-arm pace bowler,  Brown worked hard and eventually broke into the first team soon. He made his first class debut against Sussex in 2017.

Brown had a breakout season in 2018, when the youngster snapped 31 wickets in the 2018 T20 Blast season and announced his arrival in some style. He bowled a scintillating spell in the semi finals against Lancashire, picking up 4 for 21 to help his side reach the finals.

In 2019, Brown was finally called up to the England squad for the T20I series against New Zealand. He made his debut in the first T20I and grabbed Ross Taylor as his maiden T20I wicket.

Following the T20I series, he was named in the ODI squad for the series against South Africa, however, Brown was ruled out of the England squad due to a stress fracture to his lower back.

Before the start of the 2021 County Championship, the speedster was roped in by Birmingham Phoenix for the inaugural edition of the Hundreds. His hostile pace and the ability to hit the deck hard can be a useful weapon for the Phoenix. Provided he stays injury free, Birmingham Phoenix have a gem on their hands.
