Player Bio

A classy southpaw, Nick Gubbins is a professional English cricketer who started his cricketing career playing in age-group cricket for Middlesex in 2009 before making a shock move to Hampshire on loan for the remainder of the 2021 season.

The Surrey-born batsman made his first-class debut playing for Leeds on April 5th, 2013 against Yorkshire. Gubbins seemed a shoo-in for test honours in 2016 when he stockpiled 1409 first-class runs which helped Middlesex secure the first County Championship crown since the early 1990s.

After plying his trade for Sydney CC in 2020, Gubbins returned to the English domestic circuit in 2021 and hit a brilliant 124 from 145 balls against Surrey and led Middlesex to a dramatic last-day victory against their close rivals at the Oval.

A move that came as a shock to the entire cricketing fraternity, the southpaw decided against extending his contract and signed a loan deal with Hampshire instead. Gubbins has been one of Middlesex's successful batsmen across the last decade and was highly influential on and off the pitch for the Club.
