Player Bio

A left-arm quick with raw pace, Tom Barber is a professional English cricketer who gained recognition after fracturing Eoin Morgan's thumb during a net session. He also broke the record for the fastest delivery in testing at the national performance centre at Loughborough. Barber, who is 6ft 3in tall, was reportedly spotted by former Middlesex T20 coach Daniel Vettori playing for the second XI and immediately made comparisons with Starc at the same age.

The Dorset-born's future looked bright in 2014 when he dismissed Kane Williamson and Andrew Gale in consecutive balls on his Royal London One Day Cup debut against Yorkshire. Barber started his County career with Middlesex at the Lords against Glamorgan in April 2018. The highlight of Barber’s time with Middlesex was in the Vitality Blast against Sussex, when in 2018, in front of a full house at Lord’s, he ripped through the visitor’s order to finish with career-best figures of 4 for 28.

The left-arm pacer left Middlesex having played 14 matches for the club in all three formats and having taken fourteen wickets and was signed by Nottinghamshire in 2020. Barber who is at Trent Bridge is hopeful in turning potential into numbers, fast-tracking, and expectation working under the new coach Kevin Shine.
