Player Bio

A young teenage sensation, Harry Duke is a professional English cricketer for Yorkshire County. A prolific wicket-keeper batsman, he was selected as a backup for Jordan Cox in the English u-19 setup for the 2020 U-19 World Cup and has shown promise with the Yorkshire second XI as well.

Duke first wore the White Rose at the u-14s in 2015 before scoring two centuries at the u-17s level in 2017 and 2018. He first represented the second string of Yorkshire in a T20 fixture against Derbyshire in 2018 and spent parts of 2020 with the young England Lion’s squad.

The Pinderfields-born gloveman made his championship debut against Glamorgan on May 13th, 2021, and two months later, he got the opportunity in Yorkshire’s white-ball squad. He made his Royal London Cup debut against Surrey on July 22nd and just three days later, he shot to fame with a magnificent century to steer an inexperienced Vikings side to victory against Leicestershire. By doing so, Duke became the second-youngest Yorkshire player to make a List A century since Sachin Tendulkar in 1992.

With most of the top-flight players missing from the Yorkshire lineup, the teenager was backed to realise his opening potential and lead the inexperienced batting line up from the front in the 2021 Royal London Cup. The 19-year old certainly has a lot of potential and he would be hoping to fulfil the role given to him to continue his growth as a player.
