Player Bio

Hamidullah Qadri created history when at the age of 16 years and 203 days, he became the youngest player to play for Derbyshire County.

Born in Kandahar, Afghanistan, the right-arm off-break bowler, moved to England at the age of 10. He played for local clubs before being roped in by Derbyshire in 2017. He had an instant impact on his debut, claiming a fifer against Glamorgan in the second innings of a county game. Derbyshire won that game and Qadri was hailed as the future star of England cricket.

Qadri has played quite a lot of cricket for the England U-19 side and has also represented the Three Lions at the 2020 Under-19 World Cup.

A crafty off-spinner and a genuine wicket-taking bowler in white-ball cricket, Qadri has made quite a name for himself in the domestic circuit. His desire to learn more about spin bowling makes him a great student of the game.
