Player Bio

Ashmead Romano Nedd is an upcoming slow left-arm orthodox bowler for the West Indies. Born in Guyana, the spinner donned the Maroon jersey during the 2020 U-19 World Cup. Nedd represents the Leeward Islands in the regional competitions in the Caribbean Islands, while he plays for Guyana Amazon Warriors in the much-celebrated Caribbean Premier League.

The Guyanese are a classical left-arm who depends more on bowling slow in the air than getting the spin-off the surface. Nedd was part of the West Indies squad for the 2018 U-19 World Cup but didn’t get the opportunity to play the tournament then.

The spinner made his List-A debut for the West Indies Emerging Team in the 2019-20 season. Later in 2020, he represented the West Indies in the U-19 World Cup, where the spinner was his team’s highest wicket-taker with 10 wickets to his name.

Post the pinnacle tournament, he was picked by Guyana Amazon Warriors to provide his services in the 2020 edition of the CPL. He got four games in his maiden season and shared the dressing room with Imran Tahir and Chris Green.

For the 2021 season, the spinner will again be playing CPL for the Amazon Warriors, which would surely help Nedd gain some priceless experience.
