Player Bio

Noor Ahmad is an Afghan cricketer who plays for Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League.

In 2019, he made his first class debut for Kabul Region in the 2019-20 Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day tournament.

A left-arm wrist spinner by profession, Ahmad was drafted in the Afghanistan squad for the 2020 Under-19 World Cup.

Ahmad became a sensation when the spinner was drafted in by the Melbourne Renegades to play in the 2020-21 Big Bash League at age of 15. Ahmad was on the Renegadesā€™s radar ever since the Under-19 World Cup, where he impressed everyone with his variations. The Afghan born played 6 matches, but only managed to pick two wickets at an economy of 8.36.

In March 2021, he was picked by the Chennai Super Kings as a net bowler, ahead of the 2021 Indian Premier League.

Ahmad continued his love-affair with franchise cricket and was roped in by the Karachi Kings for the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League.

Over the years, Afghanistan have produced some really good spinners, with the likes of Rashid Khan, Mujeeb and Mohammad Nabi. Ahmad is another name added to that list of elite spinners produced from the land of Afghans. A wily spinner who is not afraid to toss the ball, Ahmad has to be nurtured, so that he is ready for the bigger challenges at the international level.
