Player Bio

Known for her six-hitting abilities, Richa Ghosh is a professional cricketer for the Indian women’s team. The West Bengal cricketer is a complete package, who loves to open up the batting, bowls at a good pace, and also keeps wicket. Richa picked up the willow at the tender age of four after seeing her father Manabendra Ghosh, now a part-time Bengal umpire, play.

Hailing from Siliguri, she played fearlessly and made rapid strides in domestic cricket. Eventually, she was called for the senior Bengal camp in 2012-13. After a good show in the Challenger Trophy, she ultimately made her way into the national team at the age of 16. She made her debut against the mighty Aussies on February 12th, 2020 compiling 17 runs in a close defeat.

After her debut, she was selected to don the blue jersey in the 2020 T20 World Cup in which the Women in Blue made their way to the finals. A coach’s delight, a God-gifted talent, Richa has what it takes to take to succeed at the highest level.
