Player Bio

An ever-reliable wicket-keeper and batter, Nuzhat Parween was the former captain of the U-16 Madhya Pradesh football team. After meeting her idol, Mithali Raj, at a tournament in 2012, she decided to take up cricket.

She started out as a wicketkeeper in the domestic circuit representing Singrauli. On the basis of her performance, she was given a special place in Madhya Pradesh’s U-19 teams of women cricket.

After captaining the MP side for over four years, she made her debut for the Women in Blue on November 18th, 2016 against West Indies Women but didn’t get an opportunity to bat.

She made her WODI debut against Ireland in the quadrangular series on May 15th, 2017, held in South Africa. The cricketer from Madhya Pradesh was also a part of the Indian team to reach the final of the 2017 Women’s cricket World Cup, where the team lost to England by nine runs.

Having played just 3 T20I and 1 WODI, she has been a retreat keeper in place of  Sushma Verma in the Indian squad and hasn’t got much opportunity to present herself on the international stage. Still just 24 years old, her prime cricketing years are still left for the taking.
