Player Bio

A dependable batswoman and one of the most technically sound wicket-keeper, Rachael Priest who started off her domestic career for Central Districts got her maiden callup to the New Zealand A team in 2007 and has never looked back since.

Priest made her T20I debut against a bolstering Aussie lineup and a week later, she made her ODI debut against the same side. During the early stages of her career, she was not known as a consistent performer in the international domain but things changed soon, and in 2015, she amassed 592 runs in 11 matches with an exceptional average of 54. With over 150 international appearances, she is currently the most experienced player in the White Ferns squad.

In an ODI match against Sri Lanka Women, she became the first and only wicket-keeper batter to record a 150+ score. On the back of an amazing season in 2015, she was signed up by the Women’s Big Bash League(WBBL) giants Melbourne Renegades ahead of the inaugural edition of the coveted tournament. Her stint with the Renegades lasted for two years and in 2017, she was contracted by the Sydney Thunders up till now.

Priest has been a formidable opener for her country opening the batting alongside Suzie Bates and is a formidable member for the White Ferns.
