Player Bio

A young, talented, hardworking batting all-rounder, Khushdil Shah is a professional cricketer for Pakistan National team.

The left-handed batsman and slow left-arm orthodox bowler, Shah made his first-class debut playing for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) in the Quaid-e-Azam trophy against Habib Bank Limited on Oct 26, 2015.

After his exploits in limited over games in domestic circuit, he was nominated in the Balochistan's squad in April 2018 for the Pakistan Cup. In the same year, his rich vein of form continued when he became the leading run scorer in the 2018-19 Quaid-e-Azam trophy with 463 runs in 7 matches.

The very next year, in March 2019, Shah was named in Khyber Phatunkwa’s squad for the 2019 edition of Pakistan Cup where he scored a blistering knock of 154 runs unbeaten in 96 balls which led to a historic run chase of 342 against Punjab. Khusdil Shah played his maiden PSL season for Peshwawar Zalmi where he was the emerging player in the 2017-18 edition of PSL. On October 9, 2019, Khusdil smashed a 35-ball century, which was the fastest T20 hundred by a Pakistani batsman and made him an overnight sensation in his country. Later, before the start of 2020 PSL season, he was bought by Multan Sultans in the player auction of 2020.

Initially, Shah got to represent Pakistan’s squad and was named for the 2018 Emerging Teams Asia Cup in December 2018, however, he made his debut against Australia in the Twenty20 series on November 8, 2019. After a long wait in ODI format, Shah finally got his turn against Zimbabwe after being ignored for the England series. He made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe on November 3, 2020 and later in November was added to the 35-man squad touring New Zealand.

During the said tour, he suffered a personal loss back home with his father passing away. However, despite that the youngster decided not to go back home and stay till the end of the series.

With the power-hitting prowess, the Bannu-born cricketer offers, Pakistan might look to hand him the license in the middle-order to dominate any kind of bowling attack in limited overs format.
