Muhammad Musa Khan

High speed and immense control is what defines Muhammad Musa. A product of Pakistan’s U19 setup, Musa rose to prominence after his debut season with Islamabad United in 2019, where his lightning bowling speed alongside accurate line and length was clearly visible.

Musa was added to the 2018 U19 World Cup squad and the pacer caught the eyes of several cricketers. The right-arm quick made his first-class debut playing for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited in the 2018/19 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy tournament.

Islamabad United took the gamble and roped in the youngster for the 2019 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). He played 7 matches and grabbed 6 wickets in the tournament. But the big talking point was about his pace as Musa consistently clocked over 140kph and troubled the batsmen at will.

The North-West Frontier cricketer was a surprise pick for the tour of Australia. The young gun was selected in the Test squad to face the Australians. Also, the pacer had an unimpressive debut as he went wicketless and conceded 114 runs. 

The Islamabad-born made his ODI debut in 2020 against Zimbabwe and announced his arrival at the big stage with a match-winning effort of 2 for 21 in 6.1 overs. 

The Islamabad United star is definitely too raw at the moment, but has the pace in his armory to trouble any batsmen in the world. However, the initial signs are positive and the young prodigy should be handled with care.
