Chundangapoyil's Bio

Chundangapoyil Rizwan is an emerging cricketer who represents the United Arab Emirates internationally. He is a potent force who has been donning Emirati colours since his debut back in 2019.

Born in Kerala, Rizwan began playing the sport in his native place of Thalassery and went on to represent Kerala Cricket Association XI. However, he was not lucky enough to grab further opportunities in India. Hence, he decided to migrate to the UAE.

In the Gulf land, the Thalassery-born sharpened his skills. As grew forward, as a spinner, he made the googly his go-to weapon. However, he majored in batting to become a quality middle-order batter.

The allrounder made his international debut during Nepal’s tour of the UAE. In January 2019, he received both his ODI and T20I caps. He cemented his place on the maiden series itself, playing impressive knocks of 45 (in ODIs) and 44 runs (in T20Is) to announce his authority.

In December 2020, he was one of ten cricketers to be awarded a year-long part-time contract by the Emirates Cricket Board. The following month, Rizwan celebrated that by notching his maiden international century, in an ODI game against Ireland.

The batting-allrounder, Rizwan is serving UAE with sincere pride and dedication, he is also the key reason for his nation’s upward journey at the world stage.
