Player Bio

Born in Surrey, England, Oliver Hairs is a Scottish cricketer who made his international debut in 2010.

A gritty left-handed batter, Hairs rose through Scotland’s age-group cricket and has represented his nation at the Under-19 level. The selectors kept an eye on him and eventually Hairs was called up to the senior side for the ICC World Cricket League Division One 2010.

In the third game of the competition against the Netherlands, he got a chance to make his ODI debut. Hairs opened the batting for the Scotts and played a mature 33-ball 23 under difficult circumstances.

Over the years, his batting form dipped and Hairs was in and out of the national side. Meanwhile, in 2019, Hairs was given another opportunity and this time in the shortest format of the game. He made his T20I debut for Scotland against the Netherlands in the 2019 Ireland Tri-Nation T20I Series.

In September 2021, the England born batter was included in Scotland's provisional squad for the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

So far, Hairs’s international career has seen a lot of ups and downs. He has struggled to cope up with the pressure of playing at the highest level. To date, the left-handed batter has played 12 T20I matches and has scored just 133 runs, at an average of 13.30,
