That’s a wrap from our side as well. We appreciate your participation from all across the world. On behalf of my co-commentator Megh Mandaliya and Scorer/Analyst Chandan Kumar Singh, I, Amit Das, am signing off. Please join us for the other fixtures across the world. Until then, Ta-Ta, Bye-Bye.✌✌
Hayley Matthews (West Indies Women Captain): "Anytime we are chasing a score like 137, we know someone will have to take it on. It was tight at the end. We gave the Irish batters too much width. Karishma Ramharack bowled superbly. The girls did a fantastic job. Yes, we lost a lot of games in a row so it's good that we can get past the line today. We are going through a transitional phase. I keep saying that. But at the same time it's really good to see the young girls performing."
Laura Delany (Ireland Women Captain): "I think we batted with great intensity. We just have to be better in the field if we want to beat the best side. I think a lot of the girls were nervous there. Orla Prendergast and Gaby Lewis batter really well. We are a young side and we know we are a better side than this. The best is yet to come."
Hayley Matthews gets the Player of the Match Award.
"As captain and leaver obviously, we need someone to bat through the innings. Did my bit today, important game for us. Lot of pressure, kudos to them (Ireland). (On captaincy role) I think for me taken a bit of more responsibility, new role taken on. It has helped me a lot ."
1:40 AM IST | The Windies Women have won this humdinger of a match to defeat Ireland in a last-over thriller here at Newlands. It was a masterclass from skipper Hayley Kristen Matthews and she has got her side home after a stuttering start. She lets the roar out and the Windies win this encounter by 6 wickets.

In pursuit of a challenging total of 138, the West Indies openers Hayley Kristen Matthews and Rashada Williams started the innings on a sedate note by stitching only 21 runs off the first five overs. Just at the stroke of the powerplay, the duo was involved in a mix-up and Williams had to return back for 17(20). Vice-captain Shemaine Campbelle then joined forces with the skipper and the duo looked to accelerate the innings but the Irish skipper Laura Delany trapped Campbelle on the front for 8(10).

West Indies were tottering at 46/2 and the run rate was creeping over 8 when Chinelle Henry, at number four, walked out in the middle. The right-hander soaked up the pressure from one end and played the supporting role to the skipper. Hayley Matthews kept moving the scorecard on the other hand registered her 7th International half-century. Some late blows by the skipper brought the asking run rate down at the backend of the innings but Leah Paul dismissed the well-set Henry 34(29) in the 18th over and leveled the game again.

However, skipper Matthew held her nerves and got her past the line. The right-hander secured a scintillating 66* (53) and turned the game entirely. Ireland squandered a whole lot of chances and seemed disoriented in the field. That perhaps costed them the historic victory.

Earlier in the day, after electing to bat first, Ireland lost the early wicket of Amy Hunter 1(5), who was dismissed by
Shamilia Connell in the second over of the innings. Gaby Lewis then joined forces with in-form Orla Prendergast and the duo resurrected the Irish innings.  Both the batters absorbed the pressure and kept moving the scorecard to station Ireland at 65/1 at the halfway stage. The right-hander Prendergast was the primary aggressor in the partnership while Lewis was playing the second fiddle.

The duo stitched the highest-ever partnership for Ireland Women in the T20 World Cups and just when Prendergast was completely changing the course of the game, Shamilia Connell broke the 90-run stand between the duo by removing Prendergast for 61(47), including 6 fours and 1 maximum. Lewis continued her unhurried approach and she got together with Eimear Richardson but it wasn’t long enough before Karishma Ramharack dismissed Lewis for 38(34). Following her wicket, Ireland went astray and lost wickets in quick succession. Nonetheless, they posted a respectable total of 137/9 in 20 overs. Stick around for the post-match presentation!

19.5 L Delany to Matthews
4 Matthews the HERO!!!!! She wins it for her country! Ends the 15-match losing streak, Hayley Matthews all the way. They escape with a ball to spare. Half volley, width offered and Matthews slices hard over past cover for a boundary.
19.4 L Delany to A Alleyne
1lb Alleyne comes in and immediately gets off strike at the crucial juncture of the match. Good length delivery hits her on the back leg, might have missing leg stumps, one run taken!

What is going on here? Matthews is furious here. There was never a second run there.
19.3 L Delany to S Gajnabi
1W What a moment in the game!!!! The game is still alive. Catch it was the shout as Gajnabi pushes forward, just went past short mid on, tries to steal double there, but ends up way short to one-bounce throw. Ireland gets her out at the right time.
4 required now from 4 balls. Windies just a boundary away.
19.2 L Delany to Matthews
1 Tossed up on middle stumps, whipps this one to deep mid wicket for another single.
Ireland still stand a chance....
19.1 L Delany to S Gajnabi
1 Fuller on legs, flicks to mid wicket for one run. They are in hurry!
