Player Bio

Emilio Nico Gay is an English cricketer who plays for Northamptonshire. A gutsy cricketer, Gay is a left-handed batsman who loves to play a free-flowing brand of cricket.

Born in Bedford, Gay made his first-class debut for Northamptonshire in the 2019 County Championship. He struggled initially for a place in the playing XI, but his crowning moment came in the 2021 season, when Gay scored his maiden first-class ton, 101 against Kent on a green top.

2021 continued to be a fruitful year for the batter as he got a chance to make his List-A debut for Northampton against Glamorgan.

A cricketer tailor-made for Test cricket, Gay is a gritty cricketer whose never say die attitude has earned him praise from his cricket coach, Gary Steer. He loves to perform under pressure and this attitude will further elevate his cricketing career.
