Player Bio

A dynamic all-rounder and a well-established domestic player, Alamgir Kabir is former Bangladeshi cricket who has represented the Tigers in just three Test matches in his entire career.

Alamgir broke into the domestic circuit in the year 2000 and soon caught the attention of the national selectors on the back of a strong all-round performance in first-class matches. He made his international debut against Sri Lanka on July 21st, 2002, and failed to pick any wicket. In a career spanning over three years, Alamgir just managed three Test matches without fetching any wicket. On the basis of his inconsistency, he proved ineffective with both bat and ball at the international level and was soon demoted back to the domestic circuit in the year 2004.

Alamgir continued to feature for the Rajasahi division and scalped 222 wickets in 79 domestic appearances, a feat hardly matched by any in those times. Alamgir played his last domestic match in January 2009 in a List A fixture before turning to coach the youngsters.
